With an "L" shaped design and overlapping volumes that create voids and appear to be floating above the floor, it brings a sense of lightness to the ensemble and visual integration between the private area (upper floor) and the social area (ground floor), which opens up towards the pool, covering the open space. The contrast between corten steel and exposed concrete further emphasizes the volumes, while the large openings allow for extensive views of the surroundings and explore natural lighting and ventilation. The clients were primarily seeking comfort within the house and desired a visual connection to the green area located at the back of the residence. With an "L" shaped design and overlapping volumes, Casa Corten forms voids that seemingly float above the floor, bringing a sense of lightness to the ensemble and visual integration between the private area (upper floor) and the social area (ground floor), with the latter facing the pool, which covers the open space. In this house, functionality, thermal and acoustic comfort, and visual aesthetics are important aspects to be discussed, as with all projects undertaken by our office, as we always strive to incorporate these elements while also considering sustainability. All spaces have large openings that allow for natural lighting and views, even in the service area of the house, where an opening provides a view of the green area in the front, ensuring good illumination and reducing the need for electrical energy consumption, resulting in cost savings for the residents.
